Job Description
  • Provide effective and efficient technical service for the civil & structural engineering laboratory works.
  • Provide essential support to lab personnel in the performing laboratory works, experiments, instrumentation and test setup.
  • Undertake machining works including metal milling works and carpentry.
  • Liaise with client or client representative.
  • In-charge in the assembly and construction of testing rigs for structural testing including working in a wide variety of engineering materials.
  • To strip down the test rigs and equipment and dispose of large tested specimens.
  • To install and monitoring measuring devices and other equipment related to the testing programme.
  • To keep the lab working area and the surrounding clean and tidy.
  • Assist test engineer in performing in-house maintenance of facilities and lab equipment including machinery, manuals and other facilities.
  • Maintain lab inventory of equipment, supplies and testing materials.
  • Assist lab management in planning the development, replacement and maintenance of testing equipment and other lab facilities.
  • Perform other works and other lab works pertinent to the job as per lab manager request.
 
Requirements
 
  • Certificate or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Engineering (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Priority will be given to candidates with additional technical certificates from a recognized technical institute (or equivalent) and have previous experience in engineering lab environment.
  • Recommendation letter from previous works or any supporting document.
 
Additional Requirements
 
  • Posses good communication skill in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Preferably 35 years old and below with good health.
  • Good technical writing in both language.
  • Understanding in MS ISO/IEC 17025 requirement is an added advantage.
  • Possessed forklift handling and basic maintenance skills.  
  • Able and competent to operate overhead crane.
  • Computer knowledge especially in AutoCAD Software.
  • Able to understand work requests and instructions efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
  • Proven competence and ability in the operation of hand and machine tools and other complex operation.
  • Knowledge in electronic measuring and control equipment for structural testing applications.
  • Understanding of mechanical equipment related to a lab environment.
  • Willing to work in group, able to communicate with lab colleagues, flexible and able to undertake wide range of duties.
