CREAM and CIDB organised a workshop on Guidelines for House Manufacturing on the 27-29th of July 2018 at The Everly, Putrajaya. Expertise from the industry came to participate to share their knowledge and experience on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.

Water Efficiency (WE) generally underscores three main areas i.e minimise usage of potable water, reduce wastage and use of alternate source of water. Among these three areas, reduction of portable water has high impact on carbon reduction. Hence WE is set as one of criteria in MyCREST and stipulated in all the three stages of MyCREST certification.

The CIDB Act 520 (Amendment 2011) has authorised Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia (CIDB) to enforce and regulate the construction products as per Section 33C (1), Section 33D (1) and Section 33D (2). All construction materials/products listed in the Fourth Schedule of Act 520 (Amendment 2011) are required to obtain CIDB’s Certificate of Standards Compliance or “Perakuan Pematuhan Standard” (PPS). Ready-Mixed Concrete is already included in the Fourth Schedule.

Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) through the sustainable Construction Excellence Centre (MAMPAN) will organize a  name and logo design competition for the sustainable infrastructure rating tool. The competition aims to gain an attractive design for name and logo to be used as the official name and logo of sustainable infrastructure rating tool.

CIDB Malaysia and Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) through its newly established Sustainable Construction Excellence Centre (MAMPAN) will organize a training session for MyCREST Qualified Professional (QP)




MyCREST stands for Malaysian Carbon Reduction and Environmental Sustainability Tool, a tool that guides every stakeholder involved in the design, construction, operation & maintenance of building by adopting sustainable development practices. It also aims to quantify the actual carbon emission at every stage of the building life cycle. MyCREST aims to guide, assist, quantify and thereby reduce the built environment’s impact in terms of reduced carbon emissions and other environmental impact. It also aims to integrate socioeconomic considerations related to the built environment and urban development.

CREAM received Business and Research Partnership Award during Malaysia Commercialisation Year 2017 by Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation, YB Datuk Seri Pangloma Wilfred Madius Tangau. The project that received an award is D3 Affordable & Sustainable Housing which bring the concept of village open air or “rumah ibu”. The project has applied Industrialised Building System (IBS) with 562 units and will be launched early next year under Rumah Selangorku (RSku) scheme by Sime Darby Property.
