Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) was established in 2004 by Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) to serve as a corporate vehicle for carrying out CIDB's research function. CREAM is globally recognized as a Research Institute that drives quality, innovation, technology and skills towards achieving sustainability in the construction industry. To fulfill the core function of CREAM as a research institute, Makmal Kerja Malaysia (MKRM), a full-scale structural engineering laboratory equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and testing facilities was established in 2010.
After 12 years of being established as the main research institute for the construction industry in Malaysia, we decided to update our logo to better reflect our corporate identity.
The principle of Golden Ratio has been postulated by the Greek mathematician Euclid, and has been widely used by artist such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Salvador Dali & Mondrian in their work and by the Greek architects who build the Pantheon as well as modern architects such as Le Corbusier, for the reason that the GoldenRationis considered as the proportion that is most aesthetically pleasing.
Another principle used in logo redesign is the use rhombus and triangle to represent porgression. The progress can be seen from the Vertical progression from left to right. The negative space created the silhouette of a pitch roof, the basic symbolism of construction & building.
