Application Fee

Application fee is one-off fee of RM 300.00 per application to process the application of an applicant. For Ready-Mixed Concrete, the application will be based on each individual plant.

What is Product Certification?

Product Certification is where CCS grants a certificate, as a written assurance that a product, process or service conforms to specified Product Standard.

What is Product Standard?

Quoting from ISO (International Organization for Standardization) "A standard is a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials, products, processes and services are fit for their purpose.". Based on this definition, a Product Standard can be defined as a Standard of a Product.

What is type 5 certification scheme?

Type 5 Certification Scheme is scheme for Product that already has established/recognised Product Standard which will be used to certify the product.

How to apply with CREAM Product Certificate of Conformity?

Fill in the Questionnaire Form and submit to CCS. Based on the information in the Questionnaire, a quotation will be prepared. The quotation provides an estimate for the total cost for certification.

Upon acceptance of the quotation, the applicant is required to submit the application form together with the application fee. Questionnaire and Application Form can be downloaded here or obtained from CREAM office.

What is the estimated cost of applying for product certification with CCS?

What is the cost involved in obtaining CCS Product Certificate?

How long does it take for CCS to issue the Pre-Certification letter after a complete Application Form and related payment has been made by the applicant?

Time consumed by CCS to issue the Pre-Certification letter is fourteen (14) working days depending on the payment made by the applicant.

How long is the validity of a certificate?

CCS Certificate of Conformity is valid for two (2) years from the date of certification decision. However, surveillance audit will be conducted once a year or based on the product scheme.

How long does it take for a certain product to be certified and obtain CCS Product Certificate of Conformity?

The timeframe from application until granting of certificate of conformity may take at least 3-6 months depending on;

i. Product compliance to Product Standard
ii. Appropriateness of Quality system implemented at the manufacturing location
iii. Time needed to complete a test. A test period is variable depending on the product tested.

iv. Enables the product to stand out from the competition with a clearly visible mark representing quality
v. Demonstrates to current and prospective customers that the product has undergone a rigorous audit and testing process

What is the method of payment?

i. Application fee shall be made during the application.
ii. Full payment upon confirmation of plant/ factory audit and inspection.
iii. All payment shall be made in the name of Construction Research Institute of Malaysia and cheques shall be crossed A/C Payee only.
